Tony Linz in Brazil |
 |
Tony had his badge design rendered in vinyl
and I'm the lucky recipient of three of them. They look
pretty darn good. |
 |
From a Brazilian newspaper, a little blurb
about the film Du which co-stars what may well
be a CJ750! We'll have to investigate this. |
 |
|
 |
Tony's fine M1M. |
 |
The bike was purchased from Vintage Sidecar
Cruisers NE and features front and rear fender brackets
not found on DTE bikes. These are more true to the
original R71 design. |
 |
Tony was the one who came up with the idea
of using Model A taillights, an idea I subsequently
borrowed from him. The lights are available from J.C.
Whitney for only $16! (RLI quoted me $125 for a similar
type.) Tony designed and fabricated the mounts for these
lights. |
 |
Nice paint, eh? It's black with clear coat
finish. |
 |
It's a basic M1M with 12V electrical system,
and now features an electronic ignition. The solid state
regulator-rectifier came from Blitz Bikes. The
bike has been totally rewired. |
 |
The original R71 style breather is also from
Blitz Bikes. |
 |
BMW gas tank emblems look right at home on
this machine. |
 |
The sidecar has a wooden floor insert from
Blitz Bikes. |
 |
Here you can see how good the Model A
taillights look. Tony also designed the turn signal
installation. |
 |
The heads, front cover and valve access
covers are all polished. |
 |
Nice stainless steel exhaust system too, and
those wheels, very sharp indeed. |
